DAA Continues Growth with Absorption of SEMPO
SEMPO members now part of DAA
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Jan 31, 2020 – The Digital Analytics Association (DAA) today announced that SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization) is now part of DAA, growing the membership base and expanding the DAA brand.
As the field of search and search analytics has expanded, there were more opportunities available for SEMPO members by joining with a bigger association. For DAA members, the absorption offers an even larger community of practice and additional educational opportunities with new content and experts.
DAA is committed to helping former SEMPO members become fully integrated into DAA, and will be forming a special interest group (SIG) for search analytics.
Jim Sterne, co-founder of DAA and Director Emeritus, said, "2020 is going to be the Decade of Data. Search is all about the data. We've noticed more and more that data, analytics, performance measurement, and search marketing work together in concert, and we are excited to bring search into the fold of DAA".
"We are excited to welcome former SEMPO members into our community. Our organizations have similar origin stories; we were both born out of conferences and conversations that were already happening in our respective budding industries in the early 2000's. So it doesn't come as a surprise that we've both prioritized professional development and supporting our community on a local and national level throughout the years. Existing DAA members can look forward to new faces at Chapter events, additional educational opportunities and meaningful 'data for good' initiatives," stated current DAA president Valerie Kroll.
