Q: How long is my membership term? When is my membership renewal due?
A: Your professional or academic membership term is one year, beginning on the day you pay your membership dues. You will need to renew your membership before the expiration date to prevent any interruption in membership benefits. You may also renew after your membership has expired, and the expiration date will reset to one year from the date payment is received. If you are a corporate or university member, please email DAA HQ for your organization’s annual membership term.
Q: What member type should I join as?
A: Academic memberships are available to full time students or faculty at an accredited university for $49/year. You will be asked to submit proof of full-time academic status. You may be eligible for a free university membership if your school is a university member.
Professional memberships are available for individuals including practitioners, vendors, and consultants in the analytics industry for $249/year. You may be eligible for a free corporate membership if your company is a corporate member.
Q: Should I join DAA if I’m located outside the US/Canada?
A: Most definitely! While most of our in-person events including chapter events take place within North America, a great majority of the DAA membership benefits are online and are not affected by location. We also partner with and offer discounts to other events across the globe. Our online network of analytics professionals spans over 40 countries!
Q: What discounts can I receive as a DAA member?

A: When attempting to log in, there will be a link that you can select to reset your password. You can also email DAA HQ for assistance.
Q: How do I join a chapter?
A: DAA is proud to have local chapters and we are always looking to expand. Members can join a chapter upon registration or update any time on the join/leave committees page of your member account. Members can join more than one chapter as well. The aim of the chapters is to hold at least one quarterly event. If you are looking to become more involved in DAA, this is a great place to start!
Q: How do I take the Self-Assessment?
A: The Self-Assessment is a member benefit and is free for all members. The Digital Analyst Self-Assessment is the ultimate professional development resource for digital analysts. It’s intuitive and easy-to-use and asks you to rate yourself against the key defined competencies of successful digital analysts. Once completed, you can see how you measure up in the job market in your current role and for job roles to which you aspire. Results are PRIVATE and are not shared with your organization, though you can choose to download to pdf and share if you would like. Learn more and take the self-assessment here.
Q: What will I find in the DAA Community?
A: Every member has access to the DAA Community. In the online community, members can access benefits such as the Member Open Forum, the Digital Analytics Cookbook, blogs, special interest groups (like Women in Analytics and Search) and the member directory.
Q: What will I find in the DAA Education Portal?
A: The DAA Education Portal is where professional development/educational resources can be accessed, including recordings of Thought Leader conversations and educational webinars, as well as archived symposia recording and slides.
Q: What educational courses does DAA offer? What’s the difference between them/which one should I take?
A: The main education courses offered by DAA are the Essentials Series Online, The DAA Analytics Academy by Sparkline, and Short Course Certificates. These courses are fully online and offered at a discounted price to DAA members.
Essentials Series Online is a LIVE, interactive, discussion-based education program that is completely online, and only once a year. There are two parts - Fundamentals of Digital Analytics and Applying Digital Analytics. In 2021, Fundamentals was replaced by a series on SQL. Corporate members received limited free seats; contact the membership team to check availability.
DAA Analytics Academy by Sparkline is a 12-module series based on DAA’s Competency Framework. The series provides a 101 of what it means to be an analyst and centers around the Marketing Technology landscape. Sign-in to your DAA member account and register here to access your member discount.
Short course certificates can be completed in 3-6 hours and you will earn a digital certificate and badge upon completion. Q: How do I login into the DAA Career Center? My DAA credentials are not working.
A: In order to access the DAA Career Center, you need to create a free separate account from your main DAA account. You can create an employer account to post jobs here, or create a job-seeker account to post your resume and browse openings here.
Q: Can I post a job on your career center?
A: Absolutely - anyone can post a job in the DAA career center! All DAA members receive 20% off all job posts (view promo code here) and Corporate DAA members receive free basic job postings (view promo code here).
Q: How do I access the DAA Competency Framework?
The DAA Competency Framework defines the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in the field of digital analytics. DAA members can download the Framework for free here. An updated Competency Framework is coming in 2021!
Q: Can men join Women In Analytics?
A: Absolutely! The WiA community is open to members of any gender who are interested in supporting gender equality within the profession and helping female analysts thrive. The WiA hold quarterly member calls to share ideas, news, and resources of interest. Previous Thought Leader Conversations from this group are archived and available on podcast.
Q: I am interested in becoming a mentor or a mentee. How do I do this?
A: The DAA Mentoring Program is open to members only. Originally launched by WiA, the mentoring program is now open to all members. It is a unique online networking and career development resource that will help you find, connect, and share experiences with others. This is another great way to get involved with DAA. You can enroll as a mentor or mentee in the DAA Community.
Q: What are the Quantie Awards?
A: The Quantie Awards (formally known as the DAA Awards for Excellence) are our industry’s way of recognizing the best and brightest individuals in the industry. It is also a way to demonstrate our thanks to the exceptional groups and technologies that make our work easier and more impactful every day. Members may submit unlimited free nominations. Q: How do I obtain certification?
A: DAA’s Certified Web Analyst (CWA) program validates the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful web analyst. The CWA certification is the industry standard and is clearly a way of indicating someone’s personal commitment to the highest standards of web analytics. Upon meeting DAA's required education, experience, and examination requirements, a certificate and digital badge is earned, along with the ability to list CWA as a credential. Q: I am planning on attending Marketing Analytics Summit, DA Hub, and/or Adobe Summit. Is there a discount that I receive as a DAA member?
A: DAA partners with several industry events including Marketing Analytics Summit (formally MEE/eMetrics), DA Hub, Adobe Summit, and more. Check our events calendar for the most up to date partnerships and member discounts. We are always adding more events to the DAA online calendar, and benefits to our members through negotiated discounts.
Q: My company is interested in custom on-site (or virtual) training. Does DAA offer this?
A: We know your team is busy and leaving the office to attend a seminar or workshop is sometimes challenging so we can bring the training to you! We can provide a half-day, full-day, or two-day on-site workshop designed for you and your team up to 25 people. These workshops may also be modified for virtual format. Contact the Education team to ask questions and start a conversation.
Q: I would like to become a DAA volunteer. How can I help?
A: There are always opportunities to volunteer with DAA. You can become a chapter leader or join a chapter planning team. You can join a task force (such a reviewing educational content or a website update task force). You can also write or review a cookbook recipe, answer questions in the member forum or become a mentor. If you are interested in volunteering, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Q: My company is interested in corporate membership. What does it cost?
A: DAA corporate memberships are offered to organizations based on annual revenue.
Under $5 Million - $3,000/year
$5-$100 Million - $6,000/year
Over $100 Million - $9,000/year
Q: My school is interested in university membership. What does it cost?
A: DAA has two membership levels for universities: A 50 person membership for $1,500/year or unlimited memberships for $3,000/year. Note that these memberships can be distributed to students, faculty, or staff.
Q: Why should my company purchase a corporate membership?
A: Corporate membership provides one flat annual rate that offers unlimited DAA memberships to every employee at your company. Corporate members also receive special benefits including discounted sponsorships, unlimited event postings, limited free certification and online Essentials Series seats, and more. Q: What if my corporate member organization’s annual revenue changes?
A: Your current membership term will not be affected. You will be invoiced according to the updated annual revenue for your next renewal term.
Q: How do I know if my organization is a DAA member? Can I receive free membership through my organization?
If your company is listed on our corporate members page or your school is listed on our university members page, then your organization is a member of the DAA and you can sign up for a free DAA membership (dependant on free seat availability for select organizations). Register here and be sure to use your company/university email address for automatic account approval.
Q: I left my position at a company with a DAA corporate membership. How do I keep my DAA membership?
A: If you are joining a new company which is a DAA corporate member, your membership can be transferred to your new company. Contact the membership team.
If your new company is not a DAA corporate member, you will need to purchase an individual membership.
If you are experiencing financial hardship and would like to request assistance with your membership fees, you may apply for the Hardship Dues Waiver Program.
It is a limitation of our current database that moving an individual account off of a corporate membership will create a new Community profile for you. Past engagement from your previous Community profile will not transfer.
Q: Will DAA help promote our event?
A: If you are a DAA corporate/university member, we will promote any analytics-related event on our calendar. Just fill out this form.
If you are not a DAA corporate/university member, you may fill out this form with your event partnership request. If you wish for additional exposure, you might want to consider options like a sponsored content email.
