Lisa Womersley Winner of the 2012 Jim Novo Award for Excellence UBC Award of Achievement in Web Analytics

Lisa Womersley

The University of British Columbia (UBC) Continuing Studies and the Digital Analytics Association are pleased to announce that Lisa Womersley has been awarded the 2012 Jim Novo Award of Academic Excellence. The award is presented annually to the graduate with the highest grade average over all four courses of the Award of Achievement in Digital Analytics. Lisa completed the program last year with an impressive 100% grade average in her courses.

"The UBC/DAA program was very rewarding and I'm thrilled to have received the Jim Novo Award," says Lisa. "The Award of Achievement in Digital Analytics had been on my radar for a while - it has a great reputation in the marketplace," continues Lisa. "It was my first choice when considering the digital analytics courses available."

Lisa first gained exposure in analytics at a services-matching startup and later a large publisher in Melbourne, Australia. She now consults on digital analytics projects in South Africa and Australia. "Up to that point I had only practical experience in the field of analytics and participating in the program was a valuable opportunity for me to be guided through key analytics principles and content in a structured learning environment," explains Lisa.

"In particular, I enjoyed the class discussions facilitated by highly experienced and knowledgeable tutors who always went the extra mile in delivering additional content and stimulating debate around interesting extracurricular issues," she remarks.

For Lisa, the flexibility of online learning and the program's comprehensive curriculum was a good combination. "I could engage in the program around my work hours and while travelling, and it offered the optimal level of content and practical application I was looking for."
