Congratulations to Alexander Ozdowski, 2014 winner of the Jim Novo Award of Academic Excellence!
The University of British Columbia (UBC) Continuing Studies and the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) are pleased to announce that Alex Ozdowski has been awarded the 2014 Jim Novo Award of Academic Excellence. The award is presented annually to the graduate with the highest grade average over all four courses in the Award of Achievement in Digital Analytics. Alex completed the program last year with an impressive 98% grade average in his courses.
"The UBC/DAA program is very well regarded and I'm honoured to receive the Jim Novo Award for my work" says Alexander, who lives in Sydney, Australia.
Alexander has previously pursued his passion for analytics in the financial services and travel industries, with his most recent roles encompassing site optimisation and business intelligence at Expedia Inc. Alexander provides support to Expedia’s Australia and New Zealand point of sale through strategic insights on website performance and campaign activity. "My experience in web analytics to date has been largely self-directed.
Undertaking the UBC/DAA program challenged me to view the practical application of analytics concepts through a structured framework" explains Alexander. "The course work addressed current issues in analytics and provoked very interesting class discussions. It was great to share ideas with like-minded professionals" continues Alexander.
Alexander credits much of his success in the UBC/DAA program to the flexibility of online learning which allowed him to engage with the content around work and travel commitments. "Online delivery worked very well for me. I was able to study and access materials at a time and place of my choosing" he remarks.
