Jim Novo Award - 2018 Winner
Congratulations to Junaid Khan, 2018 winner of the Jim Novo Award of Academic Excellence!
The UBC Sauder School of Business and the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) are pleased to announce that Junaid Khan has been awarded the 2017 Jim Novo Award of Academic Excellence. The award is presented annually to the graduate with the highest grade average over all four courses in the UBC/DAA Digital Analytics Program. Junaid completed the program last year with a phenomenal 100% in all four courses.
"I really enjoyed the very practical nature of the program, especially the assignments that gave an opportunity to analyze actual digital platforms of businesses. Learning the digital analytics concepts and then applying them to live business situations using fundamental business concepts as the guiding factors was an incredible learning experience," says Junaid Khan, who lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Junaid began his career in Fast Moving Consumer Goods Marketing, then moved to business analytics and currently works in Category Management for a major food and drug retailer.
When asked what he will take away from the program, Junaid said, "The program provided excellent training and exposure for drawing a simple and extremely meaningful conclusion from complex business situations. This skill is immensely valued by businesses and will go a long way in the professional growth of any business individual. "
Junaid also particularly enjoyed the opportunity to interact and share thoughts and ideas on various topics of digital analytics with fellow students located all over the world.
"Winning the award gives me a tremendous sense of accomplishment," says Junaid. "I am thankful to UBC and the DAA for providing an amazing, and an extremely well-designed, platform of learning in the field of digital analytics. I am thankful to my instructors, who were really instrumental in making this program an extremely valuable learning experience."
