Women in the Analytics Profession - Focus on Increased Education, Advocacy and Influence

DAA Launches New Women in Analytics Community

WAKEFIELD, Mass. September 26, 2016 – In response to Digital Analytics Association (DAA) members who have expressed a strong interest and belief in supporting gender equality in the workforce, DAA launched a new member only community: Women in Analytics (WiA).

The mission of the WiA Community is to provide education, advocacy, and influence to increase understanding and active resolution of issues facing women in the analytics profession.

Based on input from the WiA Community, DAA will support networking, highlighting leadership opportunities for women and finding ways to help bring more women into the profession. Three in-person lunch meetings will be held in the fall of 2016 (New York, Oct 26; Seattle, Nov 3;  and San Francisco, Nov 9).  These events are being held with the generous support of Google and Analytics Pros.

In addition, DAA, with the help of Google, has jumpstarted a compensation study that will be available in early 2017.  While it will focus on the profession as a whole, the study will also address questions specific to gender and race to help provide visibility into any existing equality issues.

A regular blog showcasing women who are successful analysts and highlighting issues important to women in the profession has also been started.

All DAA members - women and men - are invited to join this special community.
